According to the Spanish tradition, the year that ends should be sent off by eating twelve grapes at the rhythm marked by the strokes of the clock that looks out from the top of the old Casa de Correos in Madrid. On December 31st, most Spaniards follow this ritual by television, although many other people, from Madrid and other places, choose to enjoy the show live from the Puerta del Sol itself.
