The Plaza Mayor in Madrid, Spain

The Plaza Mayor is one beautiful attraction in Madrid that was built during the Habsburg period. It is a central plaza in the city of Madrid, which is a wonderful tourist destination in Spain. The Plaza Mayor is located close to another famous plaza, the Puerta del Sol. the-plaza-mayor-in-madrid-spain.jpg
The Plaza Mayor is worth visiting since it is surrounded by three-story residential buildings having 237 balconies facing this site. You can appreciate its nine entranceways. In this beautiful place there are celebrations for San Isidro, who is the patron saint of Madrid, and it has a ring of shops and cafes under its porticoes that are widely visited by tourists and locals.
From the Plaza Mayor you can also appreciate the Casa de la Panadería where many municipal and cultural events take place.
The name of the plaza changed many time; “Plaza del Arrabal“, “Plaza de la Constitución” and “Plaza de la República“. At present it remains its name “ Plaza Mayorâ€. You can rent a car in Madrid and go to this beautiful attraction, the plaza Mayor.
Visit this incredible tourist destination and have the time of your life enjoying its attractions. There great hotels in Madrid and remember that it is always a good time to sign up for intensive Spanish Certified courses.
