The Puerta del Sol in Madrid

The Puerta del Sol in Madrid is one of the most visited places in this wonderful tourist destination of Spain. Probably it is the busiest place in Madrid that has an outstanding commercial area in the old town.

As the famous encyclopaedia (Wikipedia) claims “it is the centre of the radial network of Spanish roads†and one of the tourist attraction in Madrid that is widely admired there is the well known clock, which has the bells that mark the eating of the Twelve Grapes and the beginning of the New Year.
Tourists who visit this incredible site also visit the old Post Office that is, at present, used as the centre of government for the Madrid Community and the statue of Charles III of Spain.
The Puerta del Sol in Madrid is in the heart of Madrid. It is close to Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace, the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum and Prado museum. There are also hotels in Madrid that are relatively close to the Puerta del Sol such as Regente Hotel, Best Western Hotel Atlantico, Hotel de las Letras H&R and Best Western Hotel Carlos V.Tourists generally choose Hotel Gran Versalles although it is not close to Puerta del Sol. It is a wonderful four star hotel in Madrid.
Remember that you will find numerous tourists in Madrid that speak different languages that is why it is always a good idea to do intensive Spanish certified courses so that you can learn this widely spoken language.
